tea ode (poem)

Ritual

rhythmic alchemy

the water,

         the boiling,

                 the steam,

                          the WHISTLE

tea leaves stain

magical swirl

steeping

centuries of ceremony

gently aloft curl

waft

connection

cupping sipping comfort

pouring

a soothing moment

 suspended

still

eternal.

Now I must take tea for that soothing relief! Oh, I love your style: those lines with just a word carry a lot of meaning. To me, they are necessary breaks.

    “centuries of ceremony”–love this!
