open up: life lessons from an old dancer (poem)

Mind open

dancing

nimbles

you gazelle panther,

dodging, leaping, creeping, rolling, ducking, twirling, partnering

still

obstacles

strewn path.

Dandle ideas, inspirations

afresh; repeat.

Heart open

dancing

you draw us in,

more in and more

painting your untrammeled passion

in practice, on soaring stage

lushly.

Soul open

dancing

you,

dancing your shining destiny

expansively, tremblingly, passionately perfectly

human,

Aging you young.

  1. Kokowrites says:

There’s a format your poetic expression is presented that indexes arms spread wide for embrace. When I read and trace the contours, I can feel the words doing just that, like arms spread wide, with staccato dance steps, tapping and spinning. I may lack words to express but I hear the footsteps in the words and display. Cheers
