dancing the demons out (poem)

Demons gavotte

contorting dark choreography

slithering along

eyelids’ soft insides.

Bolt awake

the alarm

too, too tired.

Go rehearse now?!

take them for a spin

yes, perhaps

the demons

like me

just want to dance
