reverie at sunset

how strange it feels

and lovely

just to sit here

for five minutes not washing

soiled dishes lounging lazily by the sink

not folding or fixing anything

or anyone

nor mending a heart

(except, perhaps, my own),

listening at long last

to wisdom’s vast silence

wordless and wondrous

doing nothing more

than lifting up this teacup

to sip

twinkling hues fusing

with sunset evanescing

as she splashes her splendor

and enthralls

my day’s soul

Someone who loves dancing, writing and tea, what is left? Life is complete. Well, maybe a coffee.

I like the feeling of this. This feeling comes rarely and when it does, it is magical. I wish I was in this poem right now.

Oh, yay! Especially happy that you stopped by for this piece as I thought of you and some of your poems as I wrote. Thank you for the inspiration and for your kind encouragement, Michele. Here’s hoping you have a quiet moment to enjoy your tea today…and beyond. Xo
