What Makes You Come You Alive?

“Ask yourself what makes you come alive

and go do that, because what the world needs

are people who have come alive.“~Howard Thurman

This phenomenal quote came to me again today, sent by the knowing universe in the form of a wise, generous soul. Galvanizing me out of the numbing pall cast over me by some very hurtful, ugly behavior.

Ah, yes!  Coming alive!  Just saying those words is the perfect antidote: drinking an elixir of vibrancy.

So, I am bringing the question to you, in case you could use some of the magic.  I hope that you are doing what brings you alive–for your own sake, and all of ours.

Me? Tomorrow I am going DANCING!

Shine on.

I think everyone needs to print out this post and keep it in a highly visible place. Such wise words, Chloe. After going through my own very difficult time a couple of years ago, I asked myself this question, and the answer is what made me return to writing. I’m so glad you are going dancing! Your beautiful dancing not only benefits you, but everyone else who’s fortunate enough to see it. Hugs, love, and light to you, my friend.

    • SirenaTales says:

Dear Miranda, Thank you so much for sharing your experience and support so generously. You are a highlight to this blogging journey. With deepest gratitude and love….

Nature makes me feel alive like nothing else……but drat that thing called work. Next best, writing about nature. I’m on it! I love reading about your passion for dancing.

What makes me come alive? Connecting with amazingly beautiful souls like YOU and being inspired by your tenacity and strength. Lest there be any doubt, allow me to be the mirror that shows you… 💞

LL, You and your radiant, kindhearted words always, always make tears well up and heart swell up. I am so grateful for your inspiring self, my friend. Xoxo

…”elixir of vibrancy” oh yes, thank you for this “phenomenal” quote as you said. What makes me come alive? Luggagelady has found the prefect answer: “Connecting with amazingly beautiful souls like YOU and being inspired by your tenacity and strength.” And I would also say that Poetry makes me come alive, my garden and love make me come alive, in fact so many things, you asked a very inspiring question in fact Chloé… voici ce que m’inspire ta question…
Much love to you 🙂 have a wonderful week-end.

    aimer
    aimer
    aimer

    —————————– pour Chloé

Beautiful post with such loving responses, Chloe. Another take. Some years ago I was in so much emotional pain I I couldn’t handle it. For weeks I just sat and let it wash through me. I realised after a while that instead of being numbed – as I had been for a long time before – I was now properly alive – now I could feel pain again. Somehow, it helped.

    • SirenaTales says:

Ah, Angie. How lovely to have you here–see what you started with that amazing quote and your amazing self? I am so grateful for you and your wisdom in my life. LOVE

  7. Mélanie says:

    @”What Makes You Come You Alive?…” – LOVE, of course… as it’s LIFE itself! 🙂 ❤

  8. Thanks! I haven’t been alive enough recently, and that needs to change!

  9. Movement always brings me alive. And my kids, blogging, and music. Thanks for the inspiration ST! xoxo

  10. diahannreyes says:

Chloe, you strike me as an artist who is an “I AM” dancer. It’s not something that you do it just emanates from you. That’s what it feels like to me- in that your aliveness is linked to being yourself – the dancing flows out of your aliveness of being. Am I close? That’s what comes to me from this post. I look forward to the day when I can feel so in my skin when I act…. sometimes these things take time. Thank you for the inspiration, Sirena. xo

    • SirenaTales says:

Wow. You’ve quite taken my breath away, Diahann. I hadn’t thought about my dancing precisely in this way before, and I am so grateful for your time and energy in giving me more insight into this passion of mine. You are spot on. I am sure that your patent and abundant intelligence and sensitivity make you an amazingly organic actress–how cool! Thank you for the great gift of your presence here. Love to you

This quote reminds me to live life with passion and abandon, to dance in the rain, and gaze at the sky in wonder. Thank you very much for this post my friend – I really needed it. ❤ ❤ ❤

  12. jetgirlcos says:

Thanks for this wonderful reminder. We can always live in an amazing place if we just do this one thing. I love that 🙂
