Reading your words and see the image, I can feel those mesmerizing echoes that happens even hours after dancing with the waves. Beauty in sensation.

    • SirenaTales says:

Oh, thank you so much, my generous friend–so grateful for all of your time, support and insight. I have been taken with this idea of approaching some choreography by how movement feels on the inside–the ocean has helped me apply that. “Beauty in sensation”–you’re brilliant! Perhaps you would write my liner notes :). xoxo

  2. Miranda Stone says:

I love this, Chloe, how you capture the fact that we’re all creatures birthed from water. (Have you ever read the book “Your Inner Fish”? It’s pretty darn fascinating.) Maybe that’s why so many of us are still drawn to that endless flow and ebb of water. Beautiful words, dear friend!

    • SirenaTales says:

Oh, I am not familiar with “Your Inner Fish,” but will now check it out–thank you so much! And of course, thank you so much for your insightful comments and kindness. Love to you….p.s. I had a “nope, nope, nope” moment on the road today and was chuckling in your direction :)….

      • Miranda Stone says:

Haha! I’m always amazed at how we can cross our legs just a bit longer and hold it until we find a suitable restroom. 😛

  3. Rob Taylor says:

    Yes, they do remember…. 😉
Your words give rebirth to old reminiscences….

  4. Erik Conover says:

Mesmerizing watery echos, that about sums it up. I could swim before I could walk, great post.

  5. F.G.M. says:

written for Chloé, lines inspired by her wonderful poem “beguiling sea” – Thank you & much love to you 🙂 F~

Stupefiant, mon cher ami. Merci plus que je peut dire. I hope that you have published this on your blog–maybe the French one–I must go and check. I hope your holidays find you on sublime shores, renewing and replenishing. Love to you

  6. Reminded me of the theory of the ‘memory of water’. Eloquently written.

    • SirenaTales says:

Chris, I am thrilled by your comment–I had actually chosen “memory of water” as the title, and then realized I must have read that somewhere….thank you so much for the encouragement. I am honored. Xo

  7. Rachael Charmley says:

Wonderful poem and insight, Chloe, and wonderful comments too. Love the idea of the memory of water from Chris. You inspire me. The tingle and the rush of sensation as one foot goes in the cleansing water – whether ocean or river. How lucky we all are to be able to appreciate these marvellous things. Thank you xx
PS. Like the nail polish too…

    • SirenaTales says:

“…cleansing water”–precisely, Rachael. That is what I was feeling–cleansed and entranced. Maybe that is how best to describe how I have always felt. Thank you for your deep sensitivity and wisdom, my faraway friend. And the nail polish? Why am I not surprised that you would notice with your keen eye? Glad it passed muster :). xxx

  8. stacilys says:

Great Chloe. And I know those are your feet. They have to be.

  9. Love this image! The feet (and rest of the body) always know best. xoxo

  10. luggagelady says:

And just like that — you inspire me to remember the dormant spunk from yesteryear — and dance!!! 😘

    • SirenaTales says:

Oh, yay-dancing! Not sure I believe the bit about dormant spunk, but I DO so appreciate your radiant presence here, LL, as well as your abundant enthusiasm and kindness. Thank you!! Dance on, my lovely friend. xoxo
